does anyone know when they will fix so you can search for co-op?
Yeah, we don't have plans to add matchmaking of that sort into the game.
no idea why.. it is the only real problem in the game... and means that I've nvr once been able to play co-op.
That's not really their fault that you don't try and make some friends. There are plenty of avenues to find a co-op partner. The official Steam group, robotentertainmentsfans.com, Twitter, etc.
Yes it's more work than a matchmaking system but you can't blame Robot for your own lack of trying. The game has been out for quite a while...that's on you.

Asking people to take ownace of their own social lives? With all these things like facebook and MMO's that do it for you? And forums and stuff where people can come on and make smart *** remarks and think they are all that?
ARE YOU CRAZY?
That takes like, effort and stuff. You have to actually interact with people and get to know them and learn to converse and talk like a human being. Don't be silly .. this is the interweb. There's an app for that.

Exactly. No one wants to go though the effort of communicating and organizing people to play with though the internet, for a game that is only 15 or 20 minutes long and played intermittently. A match making system is the only real choice for casual gamers. I for one do not know a single other person that owns this game, and the few I have bought it for (as in 3) have yet to even get around to installing it.
I have 3 kids. I live with 2 of them and visit the 1st as often as I can, I have an x-wife and I have a pregnant wife. On top of that, of course I work full time and have a normal social life.. as in a real social life that exists in the real world. The idea that i can even organise to meet someone at a specific time for something like OMD is frankly ridiculous. It shows that the developers are really making a game designed for children and young adults.. people that have no commitments, no responsibilities and place an inordinate amount of time into what is, for me anyway a quick, and extremely fun diversion that I can do while I wait for the potato to boil.
The beauty of OMD is that it can be playing in 5-20 minutes and then you can turn it off and get on with your real life. What it is missing is the ability to quickly jump into and experience co-op in this same way and co-op isn't a small addition, it is a focus in the maps and design. Now i am not saying there isn't a place for the hardcore time sync type players.. what i am saying is that as the Atari generation is coming into there 40s, the age of gamers is getting older and older and developers should consider that many older gamers are simply not in the same position as children in there 20s.
If there was a matching system.. when I had time.. I could click join... get a game.. play it.. and be done in time to go and help my kid with his maths.
Snip.

Gotta give it to the dev's, if guys like this are playing then the game is a real winner. Give it a few years you'll have plenty of people to play OMD2 with. Hehe.
To be honest, no match making system is retarded. Yes, you can work around it but you shouldn't have to.
This isn't a "versus" type of multiplayer.
I have no problem playing against an unknown player, I wouldn't even consider joining a coop game with someone I didn't know anything about.
My suggestion would be to meet some people to play with right here. As mentioned above there are many tools available to find co op partners. Ya just have to use them. The forums on steam practically scroll with people looking for partners.
I also have an insane schedule and find alot of my game time is at 3 -5 in the morning. Other than my son who will rarely do some co op with me, I had no one else to run with. After becoming a member of the community here, I found that now I have a co op partner ready to go anytime almost 24 hours a day in 5 or 6 differant countries. The people that you see regularly posting on these forums have a true love for the game.

Absolutely.. the game is a real winner and extremely fun, though I really feel much of its susses for me is that it is digestible in small bite sized chunks of time, unlike say Skyrim or something. It just bugs me that the co-op side is not playable for me, when it is such a focus of the game. There are many games that are co-op and not pvp that have this kind of game finder.. and imo, omd3 should have ti as well.

umm, shortly after never...
