Windblade AOE Frustrations
On the theme of this topic, I want to know if someone has tactically pulled off - with at least some success - a "Twin-blade" push with Taoist support?
yes several times. It works best when the opponent is out of consumables, but it can work before then too as a way to suck out consumables. I have a few games going right now where I just keep KOing multiple Tribe units a turn, without stomping them, just so that instead I can keep advancing more guys forward. Eventually the opponent has to stop healing them, to actually counter attack; so it ~can~ work, at least on paper. Again the problem is that is is currently too easily countered, mainly due to frailty.
Ive done it recently against a very good dwarf player. It was more of a grind than a power attack, as both players kept rezzing and ko'ing but not stomping. In the end, i traded both windblades and the taoist, plus a poisoner, two dragonscales, a helm, and two dragons for two grenadiers, two paladins, an engineer, a runemetal, a dragonscale, a helm, and two beers. So, decent end result but not ridiculously powerful, at least against dwarves. Was complicated by the need to keep units spaced apart to avoid aoe damage, likely would be more effective vs another team.
Also, i agree both "forks" of the windblade should do the same amount of damage. More intuitive and elegant, and the windblade could use a buff.
I disagree that the fork damage should be raised to 66%, but a survivability boost (10% physical resist?) might be in order.
i bet I'm not the only curious one here.... On which map, which team started and did the game start 3AP?
Dwarf (teleport) map, opponent went first with 5 AP
