What counts as a win?
Ok, so I started playing Hero Academy last week, and have been enjoying it quite a bit so far.
BUT: A number of my matches from day 1 and 2 of me playing are starting to just end on their own, 7 days apparently being the time limit to take a turn.
I only have a few completed matches thus far, they look like this:
1 loss
2 wins
1 Matches that ended early (~6 turns in, with me in a strong position - I'm guessing my opponents used "resign")
3 Matches that ended by timing out
Yet, when I look at my total # of wins on the leaderboard - it only says 2.
So apparently, only proper wins of team death/crystal destruction count. But what's to stop a clearly losing opponent from just resigning/not playing in order to deny me a win? That seems like a big oversight.
Aside: - is it normal for so many matches to end by forfeit? I hate to have a million games going at once, but it's frustrating when I want to play and half my opponents haven't bothered to log on for 5 days.
Are you playing on steam as well as iOS? There's some issue with acheivements crossing both platforms, as I recall.
Regardless, the total number of wins is a pretty lousy statistic to be too concerned about, IMO. =p
If you want more active games, you can try to challenge people who are active on the forums (they tend to be rather active) or try the HA player run league.
If I recall correctly, wins from resignations still count, but your wins on the ladder only update when you do a crystal kill or TKO. So the next time you end a game on a crystal kill or TKO, your score should jump from 2 to 7...I think.

Yes, this.

You're correct about a couple things - matches that just show you your last turn played and then say "Victorious!" are matches your opponent resigned. After 7 days of not taking a turn, your opponent auto-resigns (14 days if it was a match started by any method other than "Random").
But both of those types of victories should count towards your wins. I know I have checked my total wins before a resigned match, then had a match resigned, and checked to see that my total wins increased by 1.
HOWEVER, I also know that a few months ago there was a bug with most achievements not tracking correctly. I thought it had been fixed, but perhaps not? You could always check the support forum to see if other folks are having this same issue.
