Weird Guardian bug

Was playing through West Wing as the Sorceress when this happened:

I had heard the heard that some dwarves were killed. When I ran over to check it out, these two black shadows were just... on the floor. I tried reviving them with the Guardian Trinket, but it didn't do anything to these two.
So I have no idea why that happened. It was kind of funny though. If it helps, I think they were killed by a Water Lord.
I ran into something similar while playing Endless Library. If my archers or paladins I had died due to fire damage (from the elementals) they would become charred and unrevivable via the guardian trinket [but during wave breaks they would revive]. I suspect it has to do with the revival trinket perameters being equivical to the Hobgoblin Shaman revival ability/spell. Shaman can't revive shattered, burned, other otherwise mutilated bodies. Not sure if it is a bug since those units are revived during breaks or working as intended.
