One of the moderator's at the Microsoft Forum made a post about the next wave. Here is info:

1) Sorry I haven't replied guys - I was SWAMPED with PAX this weekend.

2) I can't give an official date for the second wave (remember 2 weeks ago when I said they'd go out and they didn't? >.<) What I CAN say is we will be adding more people, and SOON. You wont have to wait 6 months for a second wave. Shouldn't even be a month (depending on what happens on our end) but it'll probably be more than a week. :)

3) Macs can totally play the beta! Dual boot or run bootcamp and BAM you can play. ;)
