Void Wall Bug
Often times things pushed into Void Walls do not die.
I have no idea why this happens but it's infuriating. I'm not sure if it's due to monsters hitting the floor while ragdoll or hitting the void while NOT ragdolled....it's so hard to pin down.
I have no idea what's the issue but I really hope it gets fixed.
Nah I think it's the whole wall. I also noticed that sometimes the enemies just smack up against the wall and fall down dead. Not that big of a deal except that shamans can bring them back to life, and that really sucks if you just used up the last of your mana to push a hunter into the void.

When an enemy is ragdolled (thrown), the are that detects wether or not he touches the void wall is decided by a center collision box, the problem is that if you're unlucky, the ragdoll's arms / legs or head can stop the collision box from touching the void wall, so the ragdoll just kinda bloops down and gets back up.
If you're having the same troubles I do, this happens mostly on gnolls and heavy orcs, ogres if they face the void wall when they're ragdolled, and mountain troll almost never get in the void wall because of the size of their limbs, always blocking.
...
At least, that's what it heavily suggests when you looks at it closely.
That's a very nice and plausible explanation Bragdras, thank you!
Doesn't sound like an easy fix either.
Well the most simple thing that could be done is a priority change on the wall to an instant kill on any form of contact, but then you could force enemies to walk into it. Personally I am more for that then not getting well deserved kills.
They could probably use the same collisions / hitboxes on a live ragdoll from when the npc is standing, and only ignore hitboxes when the target is dead.
Part of me thinks this might not be that easy to fix with the havoc engine, but part of me think R.E might have just overlooked this.
I mean, afterall, they didn't fix the camera offset for aiming at all from orcs must die 1, and considering how many different heights you're looking at in OMD2, it becomes a much bigger problem, but that's off topic.
The Void Wall's effective area is NOT the entire wall. There's a central circular section that acts on the enemies. Often times, part of the enemy will hit the edge of this and not go into the void, or things like that.

Ive found that too, I think its because only the purple area is marked to instant kill, not the entire wall. Makes it really hard to get the shot sometimes.
