Upcoming Changes
I'm just getting into this game but I'm looking forward to see what goes on. I'm still at the point where I'm learning which teams I like and how to use them. Looking forward to at least seeing the changes when they happen.
I want Iphone 5 opimization, just to have it but I understand its a lot of work.
I'm in the same boat as you, still learning the ropes. The wraith is the unit I have the hardest time with and I can't believe it's getting buffed o_0. I think we'll see iPhone 5 optimization before we see the fabeled Android version, that or another OMD 2 dlc pack xD.
No combo rebalance for shaolin O.o
No combo rebalance for shaolin O.o
At least they didn't tease a rebalance. Shaolin desperately needs it, my favorite and least favorite team to play.
Wow, that's a lot of changes at once...will be interesting to see how they impact overall impressions on the teams...
Uh oh Im haveing major doubts about this next patch, I really don't think the wraith needed a buff, but we shall see.
I found the TF2 team to be under powered. 1 Dwarf Grenadier with a shield, armor and a Palladin nearby is pretty much unstopable for this team. Glad to see the Shaolin getting a boost.
I have an idea for the Shaolin but it's probably too late. Instead of the monk debuffing the target he could flip them behind him. This would gel with the whole combo theme as well.

I'm sure its the change that we floated, initial health up to 800, with smaller increments on consume so it comes out the same. Its a pretty small change and shouldnt break any match-ups.
We clearly arent going to be in perfect balance -- which should be almost impossible -- but I'm willing to bet things will be closer.

Unless they implemented a monk "charge" or increased the poisoner's range (?!), which would have the effect of making combos more viable.

Im not expecting perfection, I just think that giving him 800 hp starting out while he still posses the ability to spawn on fallen units is gonna be a bad idea in the long run , I feel like the more crafty Dark elf players are gonna find someway to exploit this.
I'm really concerned about this patch... the only things I see mentioned that are obviously good things are a sniper nerf and a monk buff. Everything else is questionable...
This.. Is.. Perfect.. Maybe position swap could be cool and more balanced than your idea (2AP tridal wave) but still.. nice idea

AKA "Monk Swap" or "The Monkey Shuffle". =)
Wow if someone already mentioned this I can't see why it's not implemented yet.
Not to be a downer but, i dont see point in improving the poisoner... Honestly i wouldve changed the whole mechanics of the windplade. I like the monk being boosted. I hope the paladin just loses health or no defense. (i wouldve nerfed the grenadiers splash just a little.) i dont mind that the heavy is nerfed. But i do with sniper. I mean the sniper already kindve sucks (i know others feel different so...) i wouldve tooken off the medics health regan... It would be a good weakness for team fortress. i like the bug fixes it needs them. And i also didnt see the witches explode corpses didnt get boosted... Not too big but i wouldve thought it as an improvement. Anyway thanks for the upcoming update.

If SixOkay had promised ice cream for all, who would have asked, "Is it chocolate?" ;)
It is funny. A couple days ago, I said in the mirror rematch thread that within 24 hours of the next balance adjustment we'll be complaining again, but I see we've gotten a head start.
As far as the wratih goes, I look at it like this: DE might be my new favorite team. But as you say, we shall see. There are buffs and buffs.
At least, we'll have something different to complain about. I was getting bored those complaints. Let's now complain about how long its taking.
No not my paladins!!!
You know what? I bet the poisoner buff is to the debuff %, to allow a 2 shot with any vanilla unit.
Lol I like how you call them vanilla units :) fun to day too... VaNilla UniT.... VanILLa UNit..... VANillA unIT...vaNiLLa uniT.... Ok I gotta stop!
Wraith buff will be minor, if anything. I don't really like the wraith starting as an 800 unit, myself - takes away the flavor. But eh. I'll take buffs. =D
If SixOkay had promised ice cream for all, who would have asked, "Is it chocolate?" ;)
"Find the V in VANILLA"
At the beginning?
"Right. Now the Y in STRAWBERRY..."
At the end?
"Again correct. Now where's the F in CHOCOLATE?"
There is no F in CHOCOLATE.
"THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN TRYING TO TELL YOU!!!"
Yeah, I'm 99% sure the wraith change will just be bumping it to 800 health. Personally I think it's probably required.
I'm guessing all the paladin change will be is no aura stacking. For some reason I can't see Robot making any bigger changes than that. (although they should, and I may be wrong).
I'm a tad worried that with a Heavy and Sniper nerf, TF2 might become a tad underpowered.
Shaolin changes seem odd, specifically the poisoner change. The poisoner doesn't need a buff. Sure, she's not as good as the archer, but she shouldn't be as she's supposed to work in conjunction with other units. That's why the windblade and the combo systems should have been buffed. Glad about the Monk change.
And I have to say I'm surprised to see the lack of the 66% AoE for the witch. I'm not sure if it's needed, but it's such a popular suggestion I'm surprised it's not included.
Anyway, it's pretty silly of me to pass judgement before the patch is even released, but this just seems ... odd.

Oddness? THIS. IS. THE INTERNET!!!!
*kick*
I didn't float that idea. The other idea that was floated was a spawn stomp consumption, which fits better thematically with this team.
"We" is used very loosely here on these forums. I think that a wraith that starts at 800 health is a bad idea, balance wise and thematically.
Wooot, a buff to Shaolin, sounds awesome
And to anyone worrying about the removal of the paladin aura, the dwarves used to not have the aura back in the day, and they were pretty unreliable because of the lack of defense on their healers and no stomp pressure.
Sooooo, there really should not be a complete removal of the pally aura....right?
NO. REMOVE. AURA.
*angry eyes*
probably will remove aura stacking. and maybe only nerf it so it doesnt give the 5% dmg buff anymore. I think they got it since they had major problems vs DE back in the day. Which they obviously doesnt do right now.
i'm chines. i want play hero academy
NO. REMOVE. AURA.
*angry eyes*
NO HAHAHAHA, I hope the WRAITH GET SO LESS BOOSTED THAT'S MORE A NERF, HA!
As someone that struggles against DE in general and the Wraith in particular, can someone enlighten me as to why the Wraith needs a buff at all? With buffs from stomping and easy heals, the unit is pretty hard to counter unless it's killed as soon as it appears.
