TF2: Pyro's Revenge Phase 2 (Br ...
Flameshock and I have begun -- let's rock!
Traq leads 2-0 against JohnJanitor. Ready to face willpt.
Sorry again for the delay guys, here is the order by coinflip, if you would prefer to go that way. If matches have already started by agreement then that agreement holds. The person on the left is the one who should go first for 2 of the 3 matches:
Traq v willpt
Flameshock v Trip
exobyte (darkozl) v Winner of skeletonmaster/omelethead
TBKesq v ArtNJ
Enjoy!
On another note, johnjanitor, you've won a copy of SpaceChem from a random drawing I've made of all the participants throughout the tourney, PM me and we'll figure out how to get that copy to you!
Traq swept it, 3-0 vs johnjanitor. well played traq!

It was certainly three great games. Thanks JohnJ.
Everything ok, Flameshock? We're at 6 days and counting...
TBKesq manages to advance with two wins over ArtNJ.
The first game was won with an all-out crystal blitz on the two-crystal map with the single boost tile on the bottom. Art played great defense, but I was able to sacrifice my team's endless supply of units to finally get the CK.
The second game was an interesting match on the three-crystal tribe map. Art took a dominant lead on units, but I found a chink in the armor to take out both of his medics and survive an asymmetrical battle. Art nearly got the crystal kill, but without a healer, TF2 units drop like flies...
Our third game continues. It is a very competitive and messy slugfest on the teleport map.
I believe the turn limit is one week, correct? 2 of my 3 matches with Flameshock are now at 8 days and counting...
It's now been over 8 days since my last move in all 3 of my matches with Flameshock. I have no idea what happened to him, especially since he seems to be active in other tourneys, but I'm tired of waiting. I declare this series over.
How are the other matches progressing? Do we still have enough participants to finish this thing off? Can we set a faster time limit for future rounds?
Ooo ouch. Flameshock has always been a slow player...

Which is why, perhaps, he should change his moniker to Futureshock - a book about fear of too much change in too short a period - rather than Flameshock - a WoW spell with a 6 sec cooldown.

I'm still interested in finishing this thing. Hopefully some of the others can check in, too. Traq?
It has been 10 days since willpt last moved. But I took 8 days to move the round before, so I will not claim victory unless we hit the 14 days game timeout.
Flameshock lives! He's apologized for stalling in our games, and agreed to make his moves in under 2 days from here on out. I accepted the terms.
I won a game by crystal kill on the trapezoid-crystal map, but he's got a nice unit lead in another and the last game is too close to call. Hopefully we can finish these up before too long.

I dont think its "stalling" if a game is just more complicated than one has mental energy to take seriously! I have kind of gotten to that point myself, where I can play random games during the week, but only really have the will, energy and time to move in League games on the weekend.

"Stalling" was his original word choice -- not mine! No matter how tough a game gets, putting it off for over a week without communication just isn't fair to the other player. Regardless, we are back on track.
Yay! I'd really like to see how he stacks up against you after his performance in the Serious Tournaments.
Flameshock has resigned his remaining two matches with me to take some time off from tourney stress. They were excellent games, and he was very likely to win one of them, with the final match favoring me slightly (in my unofficial analysis). Great play by Flameshock, and I look forward to his return to tourney games before too long!
Please keep posting results as soon as possible. If a player is constantly taking more than 7 days to make moves, please let me know. I know how tournament stress goes! Mirror tournaments seem to be especially gruelling.
Hey sorry I took so long. I've been really busy. And we've really only just started playing. You can claim victory if you want, Traq :).
Just checking in to make sure that we are still creeping toward a resolution of this tournament. It appears that this is the status of the final four:
Traq v willpt [IN PROGRESS]
Trip
exobyte (darkozl) v Winner of skeletonmaster/omelethead [???]
TBKesq
The third line is a mess, and if I remember correctly, exobyte is no longer an active player.
Why dont you play Trip TBK? Either the winner of that will be the tourney winner, or if the other folks get their act together, there will be further proceedings.
You deserve a shot at the big guy after beating me and others up :)

Let's do it, Trip! *Gulp*
If Traq is still around, he deserves a shot at the winner. I'm 13-1 in this tourney so far, but 0-1 against Traq.
Traq wins vs willpt. All games timed out.
How about a 3 players final?
Round robin, two games against each player?
Round robin, two games against each player?
3 player round robins kind of stink because the possiblity for 3 way ties is so bad. With 2 games, everyone could go 1-1. With 3 games with each player everyone goes 3-3 with A beating B 2-1, B beating C 2-1, and C beating A 2-1, so all have equal records and the head to head match-ups dont decide anything.
Still, maybe you just take your chances. What else?
If one persons W/L record is better than the others, maybe winner of the lower 2 W/L rate plays the one with the highest W/L rate. Just my $0.02. :)
TBK and I have already started -- let's just keep the current bracket system and let Traq play winner.

How about the person on the left of the v goes first twice? Seems logical(ish)
Let's split the difference. If the ones digit of the Dow Jones Indistrial Average is an even number at today's close, then the player whose playername comes first alphabetically goes first twice. If If the ones digit of the Dow Jones Indistrial Average is an odd number at today's close, the player on the left goes first twice.
Art's way seems better somehow...
