Stop trying to justify the Sorceress
Now I am talking about general endless survival here.. nothing else.
If you are trying to last as long as you can on an endless map you will realise the sorceress is just a stupid champion. Either champ can survive up to wave 40-50 (although alot more hassle and focus required on the sorceress), after level 50 the sorceress is so unbelievably bad its not funny.
There are really only 2 types of ways to survive long game endless at around level 100 when your champion will hit literally no damage on big mobs.
#1: Spore mushroom/no barricades setup
This is a setup where you push or flip the majority of the horde into a pit or void walls and then the remaining mountain trolls/earth lords and anything else that doesnt take the plunge gets spore mushroomd.
War mage- So unbelievably easy with tar, literally everything gets flipped without fail, kobalds and gnolls included, and its a breeze leaving you to just deal with the huge dudes.
Sorceress- All your flips traps/push traps/icevents or basically absolutly any trap on the map that you have will be set up of by gnolls and kobalds. NOTHING, and i really mean nothing will stop the gnolls unless you can pro charm every single entrance on the map and catch them without fail. Fail once or run out of mana and you are dead. Gnolls at level 80+ will munch you so hard its not even funny (1 hit k.o at this level) or they will burn all of your spore mushrooms leaving you defensless to the big guys. Yes you can use polymorph and charm with this setup which is great as poly is soooo amazing on earth lords with this setup and is the main reason I am raging as I am trying to make a setup where I can use the sorceress and her imba ring. But with gnolls you cant run or stand in a kill box as at this level there is no killbox strong enough to kill them. Meaning you have to burn mana for charm or burn your spores to deal with them, meaning you have nothing for the big guys if by some miracle you kite the gnolls like a god and dont run out of mana literally once... if you do or drop your focus once for the entire game (which btw is twice as long when your the sorceress) you are insta dead.
#2: Classic barricade funnelling
Warmage- Yep everything runs down the path you set them and eventually your traps will not be able to kill anything (this stratergy cannot last as long as the other once) but with the warmages tar that will be much much longer then the sorceress as all mobs will be in your killzones for almost twice as long.
Sorceress- Eveything will run down the path but much much faster then the warmage... immediate fail. You will handle gnolls and speeders pretty much the same way as the warmage (although once again not as effectively, no slow and stupidly weak health pool) but handle them you shall none the less. However everything will sprint down your funnel much faster and at level 60-80 if you use charm then your barricades will be destroyed in the fights. if you use poly ring and the obvious chicken is made, then once again your barricade will be pretty much one hit.
With this in mind.. please tell me what exactly is the point in ever rolling the sorceress. Yes I have read thread after thread where you all say.. ooh she has charm and poly.... both things are completely useless in long surival endless games. It just annoys me because there is no single better way of dealing with earth lords then a poly ring.. but any setup that includes that ring means you have to play that crumby sorceress which will leave you so open to gnolls/sappers/kobalds its not even funny.
well that OP, is the most ridiculous post I have seen on this board since the launch of omd2.
how are you "throwing" moneybags exactly?
how are you "throwing" moneybags exactly?
Probably with Wall Spikes.
Indeed, spike wall (trap from the latest DLC "Are we there yeti?") is the only trap that can and always throws any and all mobs, no "sometimes". It almost seems like that trap was designed for Tower.
Sorceress really is that good unfortunately. I understand your dilema here though; many of us (and I do mean many, read all except Odragon for the most part) beleived the sorc was heavily underpowered for a long time. The web spinner breached that gap some and player base found tactics and were forced to change their style of play.
Warmage has a very .. homely feel to him. You get comfortable with slowing things down and beating the crap out of them at your own pace. While sorc requires a strong finesse. The ability to set up sequences of traps to deal with the problem rather than just one killbox. It really is a different mind set and I get that not everyone understands it. I highly recommend reading the threads here as to how it is done.
Also past level 100 or so you are really going to push Spore and Trap Trinkets. It's just not an option to be honest as orcs all scale with level and traps don't.
Charm is the only thing that has the option to scale with the levels. Stronger the charmed, harder it hits / gets hit.
Void walls do some scaling. If you set them to have skeletons those skeletons get more health. In later waves those skeletons can take so much damage it gives you a ton more time to finish off that wave. The sorceress also has the polymorph ring for later waves.
People roll sorceress because she's hot and they don't want to play with warmage again.
LOL, Stop trying to justify your refusal/inability to adapt and learn....

You gotta be joking?
Did you forget the windbelt? Works on anything by heavies, including gnolls. With the sorceress's extra mana, and the mana rage trinket, you only need to deal with heavies (which spring into lava will still work even without tar). Add the web spinner from the Fire and Water DLC and you can place a tar equivalent almost anywhere (ceiling, and walls)
.
Fact is, getting to level 100 and beyond almost always requires mushrooms or teleporters. Around level 80 lava stops killing big mobs. Even void walls take several shots for regular orcs. Trying a tower AFK setup, at wave 100, I had to throw moneybags about 20x into a void wall before it finally kicked the bucket.
It's not because you don't like the sorceress that it sucks.
