Starcraft II: The wings of liberty ?
Hi everyone,
As we all know today is the 27th , normal day for people but unforgettable for players like us. Today the 27th July is the release of Starcraft II ,The most popular game in Asia , yes the military science fiction real-time strategy game is as popular as football in Europe.
So should we all , players in this community , jump right in to the new released game and conquer its science fiction maps ? Or should we be patient until someday waiting for robot's games ?
Waiting for your replies :)
Blizzard have been pretty stupid about it. Region-locked copies of games is a massive let down, and the whole forumers-requiring-name debacle was a completely unneccessary blunder on their part.
And I don't even care about SC2.
I admit it , locked regions is dumb as F*** , how are you supposed to play with your mate who's on a holiday or something omg
Got it just today and did some beta earlier
I highly recommend it!
stop sunil or you'll ruin your cred
I highly recommend it!
What about locked regions thing is it true that if you play with someone out of your continent the game's not rated ?
I dont think you can play with them at all
I highly recommend it!

in the current state you cannot play with people out of yoru region. The regions are divided into North America, Europe, and SEA. However it is possible they may add cross region compatibility in a later patch.
Additionally it isn't really that big of a deal cauz you can easily find people to play at any time within your region. Like yesterday, less than 2 days after it was released there were still like 10K+ people on NA server at like midnight lol
i also highly recommend it. get it soon tho while people still dont know how to play tho XD. i sweeped my placement matrches 5-0 so im stoked :D
All i can say about StarCraft after first impressions is ..............FAN FREAKINGTASTIC seriously if your thinking about getting it ,do so as you won't be dissapointed.
it sucks
it sucks
listen i've never played SC before and didn't know what to expect , having played every AoE game to death i was hoping it would be similar , and although it doesn't have the same amount of eco gathering as AoE , the graphics and gameplay are first rate.
Add to this a huge campaign mode and loads of added extras , plus of course a massive online presence ( which AoE doesn't have which is why i'm not playing anymore ) I would seriously recomend it.
It's all about opions i know but to say it sucks and not having played it is foolish, i don't understand this SC or AoE thing, both sets of fans seem to be adamant the other game is no good, but i say play both you may surprise yourself.
And look at it this way Robot's new game probably won't be out til next year so you've gotta do something.

StarCraft II is just awesome, not perfect (no LAN, no region crossover...) but whatever, it's so awesome and well made that you forget these little details
bnet 2.0 is awful. if sc2 wasnt such a great game i wouldnt have bought it just because of that. no cross region play, no lan, you cant even name custom games. not to mention its a pain to add friends unless you know their email
somehow this was all possible on the original bnet and worked fine with every other game theyve made, but just couldnt happen for bnet 2.0. personally i blame activision. bnet before the merger - great. bnet after the merger - sh*t
I would have to agree, actually. Battle.net was excellent for Diablo 2 and Warcraft 3, but what you just described sounds aweful.
I played a trial online yesterday and I can't tell that it will take the 1st place in rts games if robot doesnt produce something before 2011.
Blizzard owns.
good news! chat rooms will be added. aparently they had some technical problems and couldnt release them with the official release.
"Chat channels are something that will be added in a patch sometime after the initial release. The system will be based around groups, where you will be able to join public channels that are based around your interests. Also the system will include private chat channels (in plans for release in the first few months after the release), where you will be able to connect with your friends."
I agree with battlenet being annoying not playing people from other regions, but i'm led to believe that won't always be the case with a future patch coming out.
And besides last night there were only 1 million users online in my region , i mean how on earth can i get a game with such few gamers ...sob
if community can put some pressure, they will fix it maybe

It's so you don't get *** raped by those Koreans...
haha thats true. i told my new zealand friend to use the US servers because he will never get past bronze league on the korean servers. bronze league in korea=platinum league in US
Anyone from Europe wanna play now :)?I´m so bored
I'm going to be a thread necromancer - because I got this game really late. It's nice but at the same time aside from the campaign ,everything was a lot - simpler than I imagined it would be for the years put into it.
I still haven't played my games to get my placement yet (as I want to beat an insane level computer to know I can handle Multiplayer).
Just post when you ready il play with ya,
I'm really enjoying sc2, even when I get my *** kicked. what are your tags buttons and Johnnyphoenix? I'm up for any challenge.

You didn't give the option for both.
I'm a sad panda. :(
I like the competitive nature of StarCraft II, especially with modding. Those are the two main reasons I will play SCII, as it will benefit me in the future (modding) and improve my Age gaming (competitive).
I want Age though for it's customization and the storylines. Of course, meeting other fans on there as well. :)

We need a Age of Empires Convention :P

I've never purchased any of the games belonging to the Starcraft franchise. I honestly do not care for Starcraft 2. I'll probably purchase it this September, and if there's a demo which a friend points me towards, I'd probably download it and try it out. At present, however, Starcraft 2 doesn't exactly tickle my interest.
What I'm trying to say is, the hype for Starcraft 2 hasn't exactly affected me very much.
