Spyterpillars

Has anyone else noticed these popping up in their games?
These aren't the best I've seen, just the ones I happen to have in my active or recently finished games.
This chubby one grew protectively around a wounded crystal: http://imageshack.us/a/img818/329/spyterpillar1.png
Here I made one: http://imageshack.us/a/img708/6056/spyterpillar2.png
Sometimes they're vertical: http://imageshack.us/a/img203/3357/spyterpillar3.png
They can grow pretty crazily in random games where players don't really precisely figure out the spies' killing ranges... often I see two or three snake out from spawn points or crystals extending out to almost half the map.

That's great! Don't forget Spyterpillers also can form on the TF2 side, but with the Spy as the head (blocking LOS from ranged units)

What the hey? #2 is a spyterpillar with no spy on the board! Is that preemptive spyterpillaring, or did you just stomp the sneaky little devil?
He died several turns ago along with many others in the calamity we now remember as the Great Fire of the Northeast, where chain lightning mysteriously appeared and sparked not ONE but TWO big fires. My wizard was there watching from the sword tile and he almost perished as well but luckily a masked individual whisked him away to safety...

Indeed! I believe my first screenshot showcases a subspecies of Spyterpillar particularly annoying for your Dark Elves. That wraith did not get that fat completely off of my units, let me tell you.

normally it already is enough, when you put something heavy behind you (like a knight) and you dont need to fear about a spy anymore.

@tabby_nat: If its your DE that are causing them, aren't they called natipillars or tabbypillars?

Don't forget about the Dwarven spypilsner. A single dwarf, and his delicious brew.

The first one looks extremely familiar to me. Did you play me? (darkozl) I definitely recognize your name and avatar.
Except I wasn't DE. I never play DE anymore. Or.. did I? I'm having extreme deja vu or something right now.
I think it was a different match and you beat me... hm..

No, that wasn't you. I don't believe we've met... As for you recognizing my name and avatar, well, let's just say I have one of those faces that everyone seems to recognize. Names as well.
Haha, looking at that pic again, you can see my demo man sauntering across the middle to finish off his crystal. I debated torturing his spyterpillar some more with my snipers but I figured it wouldn't be very sporting (and that wraith was looking mighty mean, especially with me having no more urine to splash on its face).
