Skull Farming - 15 Skulls every 4 mi ...

Some notes:
This is the easiest way I know to farm for skulls. Just select the first level in nightmare and use the windbelt, and you can get 15 cool skulls in about 3.5 minutes. Be mindful of the following:
(1) If you push them onto the train track, be careful if you shoot them because they could land on the other side and get away,
(2) Watch out for Gnolls on the second and fourth waves,
(3) Save your Mana Rage until the final wave
(4) You must have all your Rift points, get "Trapless", and get "untouchable" (don't take any damage) in order to get all 15 skulls.
(5) If you kill them outright (rather than pushing them over the edge), there is a chance that a skull could drop, giving you a total of 16 skulls instead.
i knew this way but never used it, cuz its for poor noobs, who cant get the skulls by playing the game the right way
they ruin their own fun they could have by playing this game, but if someone is that poor...
its everyone's buisnes.
The traps and weapons and so on make more fun to use if you have played this game and earned the skulls the right way
Why not going for "manaless" as well, while you're at it?
Loadout:
- Crossbow (level 3 + fire upgrade)
- Stone staff
- Berserker trinket
Use the active ability on the berserker trinket, and start the first wave. Each time the cooldown on the trinket reaches zero, use the ability again, until you're no longer allowed, due to insufficient hit points. Defeat all the monsters by spamming the crossbow and the stone staff on all the orcs and gnolls, dealing headshots as often as possible. Do not leak, finish below the par time, do not get hit by any enemies, and do not use any mana. Voilà, 21 skulls when you're done. (5-skull victory + untouchable + manaless + trapless)
If you're finishing this at 4:54 minutes, it will give you the same skull per time rate as if you're using mana and finishing in 3:30 minutes. Using the active ability on the berserker trinket won't deprive you of the "untouchable" bonus, and it will give you the needed, passive damage bonus when you're low on health. The stone staff hits several enemies and is generally most effective against the masses of orcs. The crossbow is useful for delivering headshots to gnolls and setting the orcs on fire. Ready, set, spam! (Oh, and if one of the orcs drops a skull, just leave it unless you're certain you're able to pick it up without taking any damage. If you're taking damage while picking up the skull, you will lose the "untouchable" bonus, and you will effectively have traded 5 skulls for 1. That's a pretty bad deal!)
You can also be defeated on the first wave in endless mode, as Edalborez said, without having spent any money or mana. Either you can repeatedly jump to your death, which will get you "manaless" and "trapless" bonuses, or you can let all the enemies through without taking any damage yourself, which will get you the "untouchable" bonus in addition. If you do the former in 1:24 minutes, or the latter in 1:52 minutes, it will give you the same skull per time rate as the methods above. (Remember to include the time it takes to reload a map if you have to repeat the process.)
And by the way, this is incredibly boring, but it's a quick and simple way of earning skulls, if that is your goal.

That's funny, I don't remember reading "Thou shalt not farm skulls!" anywhere in the game. How people choose to play this game is entirely up to them. If a player lacks a few skulls to get that last upgrade he/she needs before playing a game in endless mode with a friend, then he/she might want to use one of these methods to get those last skulls. Spending 20 minutes earning those skulls instead of 5, just because you think this is the "wrong" way of playing the game is simply foolish. But don't worry; most people will probably find skull farming very boring anyway.
The method the OP mentioned certainly works. Though dealing with the Gnolls can be a bit tricky.
Might be comparably fast, if not faster (though admittedly boring):
Endless Tunnels (or any with only 20 rift points)
-Jump off to your death without doing anything until all rift points depleted
-Level ends on wave 0, you get Trapless and Zero Mana Use
Hrmm I just tried this out of curiousity since it's a pretty clever and very silly exploit. Unless I was doing something wrong. you do not gain any skulls from it. Perhaps it worked in the past, but they fixed it in a patch or with the DLC (I have all of it). I spent about 10 minutes testing different ways. Though I only used the Sorceress.

I had to try it myself, and it seems they have patched the exploit. I played "Tunnels" and started off by repeatedly jumping to my death until there were no rift points left. I got 0 bonus skulls. Next, I sent off the first wave while hiding in the northernmost part of the rail track until there were no rift points left. I got 0 bonus skulls. After that I killed off the orcs on the first wave, but went into hiding at the second wave until there were no rift points left. Still 0 bonus skulls. Either you can no longer get the "untouchable", "manaless" or "trapless" skull bonuses on endless mode, or you have to play a specific number of waves or for a certain amount of time before you can get the bonus skulls. So playing endless mode is no longer a good way to farm skulls. I think it's a good thing they fixed this exploit.
Playing "The Edge" on nightmare still works, though. If you have a little experience using the weapons, you can get 21 bonus skulls in less than five minutes, as I explained above.

i dont remember any EULA that says dont cheat for the highscores, or you will be banned from posting your game results to it,
or, do not using cheats to get 10000 skulls with just some clicks, i dont remember something that says you " when you playing chess versus computer, dont cheat by removing opponent's chess figures...
and for the case you misunderstanding me again, that are not forbiddances, just things that would be rediculous to do
Things like that should be obviously, and its not funny, its sad if someone dont understand it
Me:
its everyone's buisnes.
your reply:
How people choose to play this game is entirely up to them
If we have same opinion in this point, why you argue with me :)

Ok, it seems I misunderstood what you were trying to say. To me, the wording "but if someone is that poor... its everyone's buisnes." sounds as the exact opposite of what you were trying to say. And the wording "cuz its for poor noobs, who cant get the skulls by playing the game the right way" didn't seem very inviting. But it seems I misunderstood you, so sorry for that.
Farming skulls is in no way cheating; it is simply about quickly obtaining skulls within the constraints of the game. If you hack the game and make every enemy drop a skull upon death, that would be cheating. Likewise, if you achieve a high score on the leaderboards by scoring a lot of combo points, it is not cheating because it is within the constraints of the game. However, if you hack the game (or the leaderboards) in order to get a high score, that would be cheating. So farming skulls by playing "The Edge" on nightmare really cannot be compared to cheating your way to a high score.
You're free to think that farming skulls is ridiculous and sad, but calling people "noobs" for doing it is rather immature.
eiterorm, could you provide a video of your Edge strategy? I spent half an hour earlier trying it, with nothing to show for it but frustration and a hand cramp.

I may do it sometime later, but right now I don't have the appropriate software installed. It does indeed require a bit of skill, though, and you have to avoid health potions like the plague. Otherwise you will lose the berserker rage.
Personally, if I feel like farming skulls in a boring way, I'll just load up the first map of the campaign on normal, place 4 paladins and press the "go" button until it ends, the paladins will never die, and you get 7 skulls minimum (untouchable, manaless, trapless) every 2 minutes 30 secs.

You didn't try this method yourself, did you? Because you can't place 4 paladins, you can only place 3. And you don't get trapless.

You might be right about trapless, didn't try after this dlc cause I have everything unlocked; I think it's faaaaairly obvious you can place more paladins AFTER the first wave.
Right, you don't get trapless, but you get 7 skulls every 3 minutes for doing nothing at all.
