Again. My goal is one simple adjustment per team.
I disagree with your key concept of only having one change per team. There is no need for such a restriction. You might as well say, change only 1 team at a time.
I don't have anything terribly new to say, here, but I don't want silence to be mistaken for acquiescence or skulking away.
Making a small number of adjustments, is far more important to me than the specific adjustments, so I will keep those discussions in separate posts.
I am not dogmatic about exactly one. But the goal should be a very small number per team, so that people don't have to go into every game with so much knowledge broken. I don't see any need for more than one. For example, if you don't think increasing witch splash 20% will make tribe competitive, increase it 50 or 100%. Obviously there is a number that will make tribe competitive and a bigger number that will make them OP. So pick a number and try it--if it turns out wrong, try again in the next update. Why make other adjustments to tribe as well?

Secondly, nerfing sniper to range 6 is far too big a nerf. It removes his USP.
What is USP?
Do you seriously believe that TF2 will no longer be a competitive team if this is the sole adjustment to TF2?
This kills two birds for me. Nerfs TF2 a little and improves a little the fact that sniper takes no thought to use.
Nerf Sniper damage at little (they only have 2, and usually waste a jarate to use the power effectively), increase medic health a little (they only have 2)
You don't seem to believe that TF2 is over-powered.
I think we have different philosophies about balance adjustments. I am trying to make the teams more competitive without changing teams' nature or the over-all game.
Lots of firepower, lots of mobility, little health, is TF2's thing. Don't try to make TF2 like other teams.

Disagree. Breaks current formations and changes the nature of Dwarves. If "Decrease Grenadier splash a little" isn't enough, decrease it more.

You make a good argument for reducing Sniper damage. I am not convinced that reducing range would subtstantially harm TF2, (they could still sit in the back, they just wouldn't reach the last two ranks,) but as I say, this isn't the big issue for me.

Your dwarf description has also got me thinking. What do you think, Trip, about this? Instead of removing paladin stacking, which I think of as a dwarf feature that makes them different from other teams, make paladins a little easier to kill? Say reduce or remove initial paladin resistance.

I think it's worth having on the table, but it might further weaken the Dwarves' early game (which isn't really the part needing the nerf) without really addressing their late game dominance.

USP = Unique Selling Point. It is the sniper's special ability, i.e. what makes him unique.
I do think TF2 need a slight nerf.
I am not saying TF2 will be broken as a team by the sniper range 6 nerf, just that it is a bad thing to do for the reason stated. Dropping his damage slightly is a better option.

I can agree with you on that i.e. a small number of changes per team, if one change will not suffice.
If we discount the shaolin which we all know need some tweaks. So is all teams within "the realm of balance". With more and more teams, it will be hard for a team to be balanced against all. They will have matchups they will struggle with and some they will "enjoy" to the fullest. As HA continues to grow, and they add more and more teams. It will be more and more needed to remake some teams in order to make them easier to "fit" in the new HA. And i wouldnt be suprised if we would be there soon.
For example tribe is having troubles against TF2. Is there a way to actually buff tribe so the matchup becomes more balanced without destroying the matchup against all other teams?
I guess DE is a little in the same boat against DW. Buffing DE will cause problems on other sides, while nerfing the DW will cause a similar effect aswell.
So, when is the question :)

Nope, just DW are OP and only when *you* are using them against me ;)
So I want a specific nerf applied just against your usage of DW versus me :D
Perhaps something like engineer shields work in reverse and magnify damage against the dwarf inside? I might just win then :)
