Poor performance on Mac

define "waiting for 2 or 3 seconds" in more detail please. Waiting for what? 

I get what a 2-3s pause would be, but when does it happen? When you open the game? When you open a match? Every match? When you select a unit? When you click an item in the menu? Every time you click? The more info you can give me about the circumstances leading up to the actual pause, the better.

I have a similar problem with my mac. It can take a long time to load between screens and it very often briefly pauses and then skips animations when replaying a move. This loading time is at its worst though when starting a new game. When going first, and (seemingly) NOT when going second, the game will pause just as the second item comes out of the door. The main game screen will then turn to black. I have to re-click on the game in order to continue.
There are also some graphic issues.

I was going to make a thread about it but, typically, I never got a screenshot of it at its worst, but here are some examples:

For a time, I got this when I used my first AP in a turn (and when ending a turn):

This white would disappear until I use up the last AP in a turn (including 4th or 3rd when playing 1st in a new game), where I'd get this:

which would gradually fade in and out.
This was happening consistently for quite a while (as in, a few hours), and it happens quite frequently. The worst culprit, though, the screenshot I couldn't get, was where the game would go visually extremely weird - covering much of the screen in such a way that the 'submit turn' buttons can't even be seen. Apologies I can't take a screenshot of this.
This only happens occasionally and I haven't been able to notice any pattern in when it happens, in terms of what other things I'm running.
 

Mine lags pretty consistently too.  The music plays fine, but the animations are not smooth.  They pause and then start again on my Mac.

I talked with our test lead about this and he's going to do a little more testing on our end to see if we can turn up anything solid. It would help to get info your Macs - what models, how old are they, etc.

Yeah I'm having performance issues, too. Similar to squater's description. A kind of hang every several seconds.
I'm playing on a Macbook Air 1.7GHz ivybridge core i5, 8 GB RAM.

Thanks for the info on the Macs you're using. I'll take this to our guys to chat a bit more. 

Same for me too here. My mac runs everything fine except this game. Constant lag/pause screen.

On a side note, please add PvC!!
