Physics --->Mature / Discussion
Any phycsics students, graduates, or just someone who enjoys the study of this subject...
Lets discuss some things...
Pick the subject...
Quantum Entanglement
Teleportation
Chaos Theory/Fractals
etc...
I have a theory as to the whole "teleportation" subject is not made out to what it is to be.
Blah, will take me some time to gather my thoughts into a post,
I'll say this in the meantime...
There would have to be multiple forms of teleportation depending on the substances the subject being teleported is comprised of.

I belive being teleport would change the DNA of the person somehow... because teleporting would go torough some dimension or spacetime something
Right now there are scientists who can make things invisible if you shine certain rays of light at them in a contained environment.
I want to get my damn invisibility cloak!
Teleportation and time travel seem pretty awesome but I think we'll all be long gone before they are possible - unless someone from the future kidnaps us. (Last part is a joke)
Hmm always wanted to visit Age of Empires 1 time :P
If a human comprises of more than one substance, lets say... "Physical Matter(body), Soul (information), Spirit (life)
We would then need to master those forms of teleportation...
AND
...be able to combine those forms of teleportation together somehow and/or teleport one after another using separate forms of teleportation until the complete "self" is at the destination.
So, if you teleport a "full body" some place, you may end up having a lifeless, unconscience body at the destination while their spirit and soul continue to wonder the earth.

Mmm. If that were to be true, (Soul, spirit not being teleported with a physical body) then it could almost comfirm an afterlife, would it not?
I think teleportation is possible. But, we are a longggg way off such a thing.
Yes, however, mastering ALL forms of teleportation and somehow applying all those forms depedning on the substance(s) the subject being teleported is comprised of could very well be an impossibility.
I just don't know...?
I think human or even biological teleportation is wishfull thinking. It would just be far too complex for humans to create something that could move a human from one location to another via light waves or whatever...
The current model suggest that the original copy be destroyed and hard coded then building a complete new copy, sort of like "copy and paste."
But even if you could teleport a human(the physical part) whos to say that their spirit and soul remain here while a lifeless body is at the location?

Well if anything like that would exist.... that would be the question of the century after someone creates teleportation
Thats the thing though...
WHICH teleportation?
Lets say we teleport someone using an "Information Teleportation" to the moon, then we would only teleport their Soul while a living breathing body is here on Earth yet in a vegestative state due to their being no consousness in them.
Make sense?
In order to successfully teleport a life form, you would have to know WHAT substances the life form is comprised of, and would need to know HOW to apply each of those forms of teleportation and combine them to successfully teleport the individual.
Exactly... we need to know if Soul and spirit exist before doing that :P and the awnser is really not on the other side of the bridge...
I'll tell you this, I certainly wouldn't voulenteer to..."go first" lolol :P

I would, if consciousness is separate from a human body - it's all theoretical and you would still exist in a certain way.
If it's attached to you, it's the closest thing I can think of to a quick and painless death. In a fraction of a second, your experiences, etc... die.
But there's always the third option that the connections in your brain and cells contain memory and everything - I sort of believe this one the most because it is the most plausible. If when you are teleported - you could completely recreate everything including the connections, I think there's a good chance of the person still being themselves.
I've always wondered if the "Soul & Body" are separate yet connected, with the "Spirit" being totally separate yet enables life to exist within a host body in the physical.
???

Well they could be connected... I dont think they are inside our body, they could be somewhere in the Heaven/Hell waiting for us to die (if those places exist) Hmm just wondering if in Hell they got Age of Empires... :P
You could only play as "hades" then :P
haha... :P would be fun Play RUSE near Hitler =P
well it depends of what you mean by teleportation.
it could be dissembling the object into the smallest possible particles which would then travel at near the speed of light to the target and be reasembled
it could also be a complete analysis and then destruction of the object, followed by an exact replication of that object at the target using particles already there
finally it could also be related to quantum entanglement, where an 2 objects would become "entangled", causeing them to behave in exactly the same way(that is be perfectly identical) at different locations
i very much aprove of this thread and look nforward to reading more of it :)
EDIT: tbh the only way to really find out if a person is comprised of body, mind, and soul is to try to separate them. but then sacrifices have always been made for the sake of science :)
James, glad you've visited this thread.
"spirit, soul, body"...
mind is apart of soul, aka "information" - stored into unseen data, expressed through our emotions.
Would you agree that if there are multiple forms of substances, then there would have to be a teleportation method, separate, for each substance...?
------------------------------------------------------
And yeah, its pretty neat, quantum entaglement and the "slit" with light experiment proves among other things...
1. Multiple "unseen" Dimensions exist
2. Physical matter can exist in two separate locations at once, and in the same dimension
3. Individual Protons/Light particles seem to exhibit intelligence
So we need a "Bait" to try to it :P who wants to go first... ? i agree in mutiple parts of substance
Send a mouse or chimp, or my "ex"
...j/k
:P

Well... it would be good a Human because then we would know our race would have for sure... i vote on your ex then :)
J/k :P
I'll tell you this, I certainly wouldn't voulenteer to..."go first" lolol :P
Animals would be tested rigorously before humans ever made the attempt themselves.

someone may have said this by now .. but im not ganna check.. ima state this... i cant remember the exact percentage.. but humans dont use the full capacity of there brain power.. if we could use it all... it wouldnt be very hard i think.. it would be something doing a 1+1 math problem...
we would be far more advanced and far more intellegent
I'll tell you this, I certainly wouldn't voulenteer to..."go first" lolol :P
Animals would be tested rigorously before humans ever made the attempt themselves.
the problem being, how would you know if an animal had lost its "soul"? do animals have souls to lose?
We could possibly run into the same problem, "teleporting" only a body of a mouse to the destination, while their spirit and soul continue to roam around in the labratory, lol

Lmao... We dont even know if we have Spirit how could we know if animals have :D... we could try to paint the air and see if there is :D?

If a brain dead/apparently retarded rabbit came out of the other end, I think we would get the idea that something was wrong. If people do indeed have souls, then why wouldn't an animal, such as a dog, have one?

Teleportation! I think the theory could work in a near future,,, but the goverments must invenst more on that tbh
