Patch Notes for 09-25-2012
Today we're releasing a patch in support of tomorrow's release of the Family Ties booster pack! Here are the details from this update.
Patch Notes - September 25, 2012
- Fixed a bug that caused orcs to sometimes walk in place when stunned on tar traps.
- Fixed bug where orcs going through the Floor Portal would sometimes teleport them to the exit instead of the entrance.
- Fixed some trap networking bugs.
- Fixed some pathing bugs related to the floor portal.
- Fixed windbelt unique 2 upgrade draining boom barrels.
- Fixed web sprayer bug that was causing it to hit mobs that had been mind controlled or spore trapped.
- Fixed door on West Wing that was not flashing before it opened.
- Fixed a bug with coop games posting to single-player leaderboards due to a disconnect/crash at the score screen.
- Fixed some issues with the mouse disappearing from the UI
- Fixed water elementals being able to become larger (and reverting to unfriendly) by grabbing puddles while mind controlled or spore-trapped.
- Fixed cyclops ragdoll stretching when killed by arrow walls.
- Fixed shaman sometimes trying to resurrect a gibletized orc (because seriously, that's gross).

I See RE Team has cleaned the leaderbords from cheater scores with this update too

What about a script that detects cheater software and bans hackers automatically? Just a suggestion for the next update.
RE cleans out the leaderboards periodically if not daily (business days). I can't find SixOkay's latest and greatest explanation of the process, but basically cheaters are banned on a per map basis. They have software "scripts" or others tools to detect cheaters, but I think it's not fully automated. It still needs a human to look over and make sure they don't ban people with rightful high scores.
But Orx must die 1 high scores are still cheated : /
hey, did the patch do something to charmed orcs (other than what is written above)?
because i think that in the past, charmed (with the wand) orcs would get hit and lose life from the traps
but now they don't activate the traps and they don't take any damage even if the trap is working.
Charmed enemies dont take damage from traps, not now and not before this update.
But you could damage them with weapons and freeze them with ice amulet even if they are charmed (exceptionally enemies mind controlled by spore mushrooms).
When will ''orcs attacking barricade'' bug be fixed???

I wouldn't go as far as saying it works fine... to me, it's a clear case of the cure being worse than the disease. Zero fun involved in that "feature", tons of frustration.
But it indeed won't get fixed, as RE is pretty happy with it. They've acknowledge edge cases needed to be ironed out, but that's it.
Well, yeah.
That case of Orcs just screwing up the barricades is also screwing up my scores x_x

I'm having a few issues since this patch. Performance is slightly worse and is jerky at times, the trap placement 'hologram' has patches of black, and sometimes the boulder chutes refuse to trigger even after hitting them, filled with boulders, repeatedly with the wand.
