Orcs Must Die 3?
The First orcs must die was released in october 2011
the second was relased in july 2012
assuming the same development cycle, the 3rd game should be released in march 2013
i really hope the game will be annonced soon. I like that the previous games had short release cycles with dlc to get you though the wait time. Is omd3 coming?
Then there should be some more dlc
I highly doubt there will be an OMD3 in the forseeable future.
What makes you say that? I mean, I don't know how well sales did for OMD2, but for the amount of dlc they put out, I can't imagine they weren't at least good enough for a sequel. Not to mention, the single player DIDN'T close out the storyline completely, it left it open, so that at least tells us that they COULD do another one. And that's not even mentioning the disappearance of the "old man" right at the end of the story... a useless gesture if it's been decided to NOT continue the story. Why even mention it at all?
Of course this is just me speculating... I could be totally wrong... but I want OMD3!!!

Hang on a minute, where does it say they're not doing OMD3? I see it says they're done with OMD2 (kind of obvious at this point though...), but I don't see anything to suggest there isn't still a possibility of an OMD3. I get it that they'd be quiet about another OMD3 coming out, but why would they be quiet about one NOT coming out?

That would be awesome (Aliens Must Die!).
I could already thing of how to explain it all (nanomachines). You could set it with a Phantasy Star Online type futuristic tech--swords, machine guns, grenades, laser traps, force fields, course some traps would still work out, things like spike traps, pounders, could still be useful, anti-gravity :-), singularities, and so on. Defend the spacehulk from the aliens, there could even be environmental traps where you can suck aliens out of an airlock.
I like the idea of Aliens must die as well. Would be pretty interesting :-D. I understand why they haven't planned OMD3 yet. I mean they would probably need some time for technology to advance so they can bring something new and fresh to the table. I'm sad that there won't be any more DLC for OMD2 though :(.
If they do a orcs must die 3, they need to incorporate things like 1v1 or 2v2 matches. I honestly think they could learn from RTS costum games, such as some of the ones in Starcraft 2. A tower defense match with a mirrored map and the ability to send orcs through opponents maze, would be really awesome.

I think they just want to do something different and are burned out on the OMD series for now.
I love the coop modes but I also think competitive modes would be needed; like time attacks/see who can clear the map faster.
