NEW PLAYER ASSISTANCE THREAD - GUIDE ...
I'm afraid I made myself misunderstood.
I'd want to face a TF2 team as tribe.
Will do. :)
Dr_doom and anyone else. For your practice I will play a specific team against you. Just let me know.
I am interested in being a trainee.
Since I am most want to know how to play against Tribe, I guess the best thing is I play Tribe and you play Council. But if you (the trainer) have a better idea let me know. If you just invite me (Adaza), please message me that you saw this post.
Also. I am still looking for a guide to how to play against Tribe. ARTNJ's guide http://www.robotentertainment.com/forum/topic/Tribal-Fury-Guide-Tribe is great for playing as them but I still can't work out how to play against them.
Thanks All.
Adaza
Johnjanitor,
Ok, Im interested in understanding how to play Council against the exotic teams. Will you play Council against me playing Dwarf?
I've sent an invitation, I imagine you'll get that before you'll see this and probably choose a different team...
But we'll work it out.
Thanks
Adaza

There are a modest amount of tips in my guides for the other factions. In general: (1) aoe them, then stomp a bunch at once; (2) dont be afraid to stomp if you can set it up so they cant use the rage productively -- if they want to save the rage, they cant heal; (3) dont be afraid to KO a unit at the front that can be rezzed by a shaman in the back via a chain . . . either the shaman comes up front, incompletely heals the unit, or uses lots of AP, leaving your offensive unit in position; (4) use phantoms, shielded knights or bubbled units to protect squishies; (5) always calculate typhoons, meats and whirlwinds...very draining, but must be done; (6) use your superior kill power to take out runemetal'd targets; (7) watch out that your offense doesnt get traded away (less of a problem if your TF2)
TF2 is a good anti-tribe team because the sheer number of units mutes the Tribe's ability to trade, and Tribe has no real AOE. TF2 thus gets to take out a ton of units without worrying about AOE, reducing the no-healer problem, among other things. Its not necessarily the most fun match-up in the world as it takes quite a while.
Good matches.
I can tell that my first match was thrown on upon 3 mistakes or so that I commited.
My second match is proving to fare better.
Thanks to Networker1 for the help.
And I'll take you up on a match later on in the week, johnjanitor.
Thanks again. This is helpful. I can't play tf2, because I play on a phone. Will that change anytime soon?
I guess that means if you're playing council against tribe you load up your wizards? Still it feels like the witches just jump around incinerating all my heros from afar.

You can get tf2 on the phone. You just have to have Steam on a computer and pay the $4.99. You dont actualy have to ever use Steam or play HA on the computer.
My opinion, as council, you never want a "rule" that says load up your wizards, because gear can be used so productively on archers, swords on ninjas and often shield/helm on at least one knight. Rather, you look for situations where it makes sense to gear a wizard and dont automatically assume its a good idea. Against Tribe, you might be able to find times where upgrading a wizard can be very useful, but its not an every single game thing. A knight with a helm can do a pretty decent job blocking a witch, subject to rage, special tiles, meat and typhoon (lol, lot of caveats to be sure). The threat of killing the witch can also restrict her.
Its not the easiest match up in the world, Tribe has a modest edge, but the better player should still beat the weaker player most times.
Relatively couple of weeks into the game , looking for games where im council vs Tribe or Tf2 ...I seem to have problems vs them can anyone send me a challenge preferably 3AP start to simulate leaugue games ..Thank u

Sure, I will challenge you as TF2 now.

Reverse matchups are actually better training. Watch someone stronger beat you with Council when you play Tribe or TF2.
i see... interesting concept . Thanks
I dunno how good or bad I am but if anyone's looking for a dark elf match hit me up. :)
I apparently have 353 de wins. But all against random a though so grain of salt. I like to give tips to people of what I've learned as well as receive tips from more experiences players.

edit for my Blech smartphone typing skills
Hmm i just got dark elves and looking for some great match ups maybe DE vs DE perhaps
Technically I'm a new user, but I've actually been lurking around these forums for a while, and finally got around to creating an account.
One thing I was wondering though, how exactly do you post pictures on the forums? Or are you required to link them instead? (Got sweet proof of a double AP gain by stomping with a Scout haha.)
You have to link it. :)
What is this double AP gain thing?
Hello
New player here I have been checking this forum and the strategy sites linked here but it seems to me there is plenty of information missing outside the basic stuff that you just figure out after it hits you.
for example Council potion works on KO units elven potion doesn't, Sandvich? ....
It's said that usually DE have the upper hand vs the tribe anyone has a good link with de vs tribe strategy?
Thanks.
@Soullord I've found this guide to be very complete and quite helpful: http://iam.yellingontheinternet.com/2012/08/10/hero-academy-mechanics-guide/
@Shadowspy thanks for the link already had it on my bookmarks for hero academy
Vs team fortress especially as de I am very reluctant to make fully upgraded units at least until the jarate is gone add to this that they have tons of units some with ridonculous amounts of HP it makes my tko usual strategy to be hard to implement also de are not the best at crystal kills.
So any assistance is appreciated
@Soullord: I dont know that anyone has said DE has the upper hand against Tribe lately (after 1.3) because the buff to the axethrower was more important than the witch nerf as to the DE. (DE dont bunch up as much as other factions for various reasons such as the extra range on the healer, but they do eventually have high health units.) Still, current league data shows its an about equal matchup, in which DE is no worse, and that feels about right.
Look at the DE and Tribe guides linked in the first post. They are not updated for 1.3, but still have lots of good info.
@ArtNJ Thanks I went through and read if not all most of the links and guides provided it would be great if they were a bit more up to date *hint* *hint* *nudge* *nudge* still maybe after the new team arrives it would be a good chance.
Still learning from my mistakes last tribe game I lost was because I didnt consider the witches to be that important focusing more on axe throwers and warriors...
I would like some help with strategy with tf2. Been playing randoms. Signed up for the league. Will play anybody who wants to play.
Willing to talk about all aspects of the game. Also if I am available, willing to play fast games.

As an aside, does anyone have problems with being spammed challenges? Jackattack87 is ultra annoying. Would challenge 3 games at a time and taunt/play inane* moves. Harassment, really.
Edited: thanks. You're a stand up guy.

I'd love some help as well. I'm still learning my way thru playing Council. Any invites for games accepted, hoping for people that will beat me, but teach me to be better in the process....
I'd love some training. I'm SLEEPYARCHER :)
I tried to add you but the nickname was not recognized. You are welcome to add meif you want some training:)

I'll send you an invite, dr_doom. I'll play Tribe like you asked. :)
Successfully scaled back my game count, resuming normal play. :)
I'll be back to helping train new players when school gets out. :)
