League One Year Old!
The League is one year old! Woo-hoo!
No prizes, no parties and no cake, but its definitely...something.
I would ask Robot to do a release, but honestly, if they dont even care enough to tweet their own anniversary, asking them to tweet the League seems a little like demanding that an absentee divorced parent send a birthday card a month late.

to be honest, it feels like HA is dying (ish). Doesnt get better with RE's absence.. in everything..
All things die. However, Hero Academy is still #918 in terms of its daily rank for top grossing games. That is all games. That may not be sufficient to keep moma Robot's love, but it is probably sufficient for a new team, and plainly way more than necessary to keep the servers running. So it will be a slow death, not remotely fast.

I don't get why people are thinking this. Almost all my open games have players who have bought teams and avatars. That and I have never qued against the same random opponent ever. Robot staying in the shadows is an issue i'd like addressed but as far as the game is concerned I feel like it is far from dead.
Anyway, congrats on the benchmark ArtNJ, hopefully it will be around for years to come.
well Congratz! About the absence, I agree, it feels really mean from them, they also could be clear, if they are trying to put something out instead giving slight annoyed message out after a while, like we are little kids that make too much fuss about something. (Yes, I felt it like that after reading the update note)
From this forum I get the impression that the best HA days are behind us. But look at the HA ratings on iTunes. Lots of people are still finding the game and calling it the best ever. I really think HA could be much bigger if RE paid some attention to it marketing-wise.
As I've said before: Hold off on new teams for a bit, work on a few usability issues, especially the noobie anxiety problem, and then do some marketing.
A few ideas. Not necessary my original ideas.
- Most Important for new player uptake: Deal in some way with the fact that noobies are thrown straight into a shark pool of myriad teams and experienced predators.
- Usability: Tapping the pie, when it is full, replays the opponent's last turn.
- Usability: Give invitee ability to chat with inviter before choosing team.
- Enhancement: Project your game to Apple TV (Airplay). (Hand hidden on the big screen?)
- And as always, of course, re-viewing, and sharing games.
Add your own.
Happy birthday league! And congrats ArtNJ and the rest of the RE fans team. :) I still have a love/hate relationship with the league, especially when I'm on a losing streak, but I am ever so thankful that its there. :)
how to join the league?
