Ideas for new enemies
A friend of mine and I had fun coming up with new ideas for enemies for future DLCs, and I thought I'd share them here. Before the "Are We There Yeti?!" DLC was announced, we had actually come up with the idea of an enemy almost exactly like the goblin sapper, so we were quite amused when the DLC was released. Here are a few of the other ideas we've come up with:
Gargoyle
Flyer which flies toward the rift, ignoring any player or guardian it flies past. When it has taken a certain amount of damage, it falls to the ground, and continues toward the rift as a regular ground enemy.
Kobold digger
Quick little one-hit-KO enemy (just like the other kobolds) which digs below your trap defense. It will only start digging when it sees a floor trap, but it will dig past all the adjacent floor traps before it resurfaces. It is invulnerable as long as it is underground, but also has its speed reduced. It can dig past traps multiple times, and will also dig past barricades.
Hobgoblin voodoo priest
Channels a voodoo spell for a short time, rendering all enemies (except other hobgoblins) in a radius around it invulnerable while under the spell. The spell immediately wears off when the voodoo priest dies.
If you have any ideas for new enemies, feel free to post them here. ;-]
Lightning bats that have goblin sappers in their claws. They fly over traps and drop goblin sappers on them before heading for the rift.
.... ha!
careful enemies that makes themselves invisible after taking damage. So wall and ceiling traps will not trigger out by themselves. Guardians dont see them. But the floor traps will affect the things. Like 90% invisible, so the player will be able to find them / again.
Something like a crazy frog that makes nearby guardians laugh and unable to fight.
hah, i know, strange idea.
A thing that will crawl around and eat orc's corpses and become more dangerouts as more it eats.
Insane suggestions :)
Enemies that move in a zig-zag or fish-tail pattern.
Hrmm I posted something to this, but doesn't seem to be here.
Here's some ideas:
Orc Spearmen: These fellas have about as much health a your standard medium orc, cannot carry shields, but has both melee and ranged attack.
Gnoll Assassin: Acts like a Gnoll Hunter but can turn invisible. It's still affected by floor traps and other traps that have been triggered by other mobs. It does it's best to avoid traps.
Hobogoblin Summoner: These guys can summon the ling versions of elements.
Minotaur Warrior: These large bull men are tougher than the heavy orcs, but still act like "little" (ie none Orges, Trolls, etc.) creatures. They weild large axes and hit hard.
Gorgon: Boss-like ceartures that can turn players and gaurdains into stone for a short while. Since the classic Gorgons of Greek myth had wings, maybe these guys (gals) are flying.
Toxic Kobold: Just like Kobold runners, but when they die they explode into clouds that apply poison to the player/gaurdians.
Giant Spider: They can crawl along the walls and ceilings to get around barricades, but still follow the paths. They spit webs that can slow the player and make them vurenable to fire. Trade off is that they're very squishy.
Stone Golum: Not affected by slows or snares or physics traps other debilitating effects. Takes a lot of damage.
Clay Golum: Starts off like a bigger but squishier version of Stone Golum, and when you kill it a small Clay Golum emerges. And a third Clay Golum emerges from that.
Iron Golum: Like Stone Golum, but whenever it takes elemental damage is incorperates that into itself. Burn it, and it gains a fire AOE aura. Electricute it, and it gains a short ranged zap attack. Freeze it, it gains a freezing punch.
Orcish Berkseker: Medium orcs with axes that act like Gnolls. They die quickly, but they come in packs and target the player.
First, I really like Dave's idea for the Giant Spiders and the original poster's Gargoyles. I'd really like to see an enemy that switches between flier and grounded under varying conditions.
Dragon: A low-end heavy with approximately as much health as the regular Ogre. They use a ranged breath attack. Red Dragons are resistant to fire and use fire breath, Blue Dragons are resistant to ice and use ice breath, and Purple Dragons are resistant to lightning and use lightning breath.
Dragon Broodmother: A large, powerful green dragon with high health and a melee claw swipe attack that applies bleed. Not resistant to any elemental damages, but does not remain frozen or petrified for very long. While walking along, periodically lays eggs which will hatch into Dragon Broodlings after a short time.
Dragon Broodlings: Small, fast moving dragons similar to Kobold Runners. They come in the same colors and with the same resistances of the regular Dragons. Don't attack except for Barricades that block their path completely.

Air elementals,airlings, airlords
It start as airling but it still regenerate health, when it reaches 100%, it transform to air elemental with half health, still regenerate health and when it reaches 100%, it transform to air lord with half health and regenerate health. They can fly.
