How can I get a refund?
I bought the game with the intention of playing with my xBox 360 controller. I realise it can also be played with the keyboard and mouse, but this is something I have never grown accustomed to with any game.
Unfortunately when I do try to play with my controller, there isn't a single button doing as it should be. LB RB up down left right from the directional pad, back and start all fire my weapon.
B is A, RT and LT rotate the vew and the right analogue stick does nothing whatsoever.
I have searched through the forums for a solution to this without any luck. Of the few posts I did find with a similar problem, only a very small percentage managed to received any kind of a reply. All of which have failed to resolve the issue.
As it is clear I am never going to be able to play this game, could anybody please inform on what it is I need to do to receive a full refund of my money?
Thank you.
Do you have any other controllers or racing wheels plugged in?
Thanks for the replies.
I'll have a look into the refund process through steam.
To Kenny. No mate. Its just the 360 controller.
It works fine on every other game. But this one just doesn't seem to recognise it as a 360 controller.
Is it a stock 360 controller, or something third-party? and are all of the drivers up to date? This is the only time we've heard of this type of thing happening wtih the 360 controller. It's always worked fine around the office, and we've never had complaints about issues like this from the public (that we've seen).
Hi Six.
I'll double check the drivers and let you know if I have any luck. But as far as I'm aware everything is up to date.
PS... please don't take my comments as any kind of criticism of your game. Its easy to see, even as I'm running around banging into walls and shooting random tapestries around the castle, that this is an excellent game.
I am truly devastated that I'm unable to play it.
Xbox controller works fine for me.. i'm sure we can find a way to get it working for you too.
How did the driver check go?
Hi Dean.
I've managed to get things working at last.
Well..... I did bugger all to be honest, but it is working.
I double checked the drivers, which were all fine. I deleted everything to do with the controller and reinstalled it, which did nothing. Then I deleted the game and reinstalled that, which also did nothing.
Then later while my girlfriend was using her user profile, she started the game up and it worked fine.
Once she had finished bragging about how she could fix everything to do with a computer, and reminding me what a numpty I am, she passed me the laptop long enough for me to check the game on my user profile.
It is still doing the same thing on my profile, which is completely random and probably something I'll never work out how to fix. But I can play the game.
Which is a fantastic game! Thanks for all your replies fellas.
I'm glad to hear that you got it working. Was there something else plugged in that was causing controller confusion? If not, this is all very mysterious. But I'm glad it works now!
Samething happened to me! Tried it nothing!
Yep have the xbox controller here too and all updated today and the game just dont work whit it all other Steam games work fine but OMD and OMD2 demo dont work.
If not fixed soon i will whant a refound.

Here's something funny: a few months ago, I played the game, start to finish, with a 360 controller. No problems. It just worked.
Fast forward to this evening. I'm having the same problem as you. I've uninstalled/reinstalled both the games and the drivers to no avail. What's the deal with this weird glitch?
Tl;dr I'm having the same problem (though I never used to) and just letting it be known here.
I don't know what to do ! If the controller doesn't work I have wasted money for something I will not play ... The game is sitting in steam checkout but I can't find a solid answer if 360 controller works without issues. Ah I did not see the demo ! Downloading now ! I hope it works
First thing I noticed with the demo is bad animation where everything flickers - not so much frame rates but the ragdoll effect looks odd
using i7 3770k - GTX680 - 8GB sniper ram - SSD - 850wats
The controller works in game but not when selecting loadouts or working menus
For the loadout selection, the Dpad should work for you. Is it not?
Sounds like there's something specific to your windows profile that's causing the problem.
If you want to recreate your profile it may clear up the problems.
1. copy your profile to a backup location, like c:\Documents and Settings\user_account or c:\Users\user_account to c:\Backup\user_account (it's best to do this under another account, like administrator or another user).
2. delete your old profile
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs...
(This will delete all your settings and customizations, not your user account for windows).
3. restore files and settings from c:\backup\user_account
This will wipe out all your settings and customizations and more than likely get your controller working just fine.
Proceed at own risk.

Here is what Robot has said before. You will need to ask Steam.
you can contact Steam to ask for [a refund] within the boundaries set by their user guidelines. But it's entirely up to them. We don't handle the transaction part of the process, so we can't issue refunds directly.
