Guardians not returning with trinket ...
I just had one of my dwarves killed by a fire elemental baby, (yes, I know) and so naturally I tried using the guardian trinket to revive him. It didn't work. it's not surprising; the Dwarf didn't leave a body like guardians usually do as it was burned. Is this intened, that, similar to enemy mobs, guardians destroyed by elements can't be resurrected? Or is it a bug?
I had this with Dwarves in The Library on Endless mode. I didn't see what killed them, it could have been fire elementals as there are some on that level. I had a group of Dwarves and the res amulet would revive all but two of them, the same two all the way to the end of my game. I could, however see their dead bodies lying there.
It's an oversight, the guardians and the guardian trinket share the same attributes as any regular npcs and the shamans' rez.
A shaman cannot rez an ally that has been killed in certain ways, namely explosion and fire are a few ways, while the explosion doesn't prevent you from rezzing your guardian (as the npc doesn't disappear to leave place to the gib models, the npc just does his death animation), the fire applies the "not ressurectable" debuff on the guardians, since the guardian trinket is a copy-pasted code from the shaman's ressurection ability, only tweaked a little, the same restriction applies.
Why such an oversight could even make its way to release is silly, why it's not been fixed yet is more than beyond me.

I noticed my dwarves leave but my archers are fine too
