Game randomly freezes and blacks out ...
I couldnt find any other threads about this topic, but for me, the game randomly freezes every once in a while, blacks out, and then goes back to normal after about two or three seconds. Some things I noticed:
Sound doesnt stop, stutter etc during the freeze
Any commands I issue during the freeze are executed afterwards
My second screen, which displays other stuff not related to the game, also blacks out during the freeze.
That's all I know. Oh, and I am using an NVIDIA GeForce GTW 560 Ti graphics card.
It's not really a game breaking thing (I just got into the habit of pressing Escape to open the menu when it happens), but it is still annoying :-/
After playing for a while, here's some things that I know:
1. It seems to happen only in combat phase
2. In most, if not all cases, an Earth Elemental spawned or was on screen (or died and split up into two smaller ones)
3. It can happen more than one time during a match
So, it might be related to Earth elementals, or maybe orcs/enemies dying?
Now it happened in the Victory screen as well. Shortly before that, I killed three Earth Elementals at once, and then killed the smaller ones with one shot, too.
I am getting this error as well. Really annoying.
Also running a Geforce 560 ti
Have you played the sequel vingdoloras? Does that one lock up as well?
running driver version 306.97 looks like there is a 310.90. I guess I'll try upgrading but im not optimistic. This makes the game unplayable as it occasionally causes a complete crash.
Other info Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit
Intel i5 750
8 GB Ram
driver upgrade did not fix.
I'm not sure what client version I have, but it was downloaded from steam yesterday so i'd assume it's latest.
When this happens, what are you doing? Specifically, does it always tend to happen when you do the same thing, such as beat a level, or transition from one menu to another, or etc? Or is it completely random?
