Game 3.0 suggestions
A little early but since i thought i'd open this thread for suggestion for RE's next project.
As a first suggestion is for RE to make an AOE sequel.
It still would be a good thing to see!
Game 3.0 is an action/adventure/platformer based on the real life events of Aloysius' life. Looks pretty suite so far.
??? How do you know this??
We've made no announcements about a Game 3.0 yet ;) He's kidding. Though, an Aloysius/Dunkman action-adventure-platformer would be rad.
lol
its obvious the community want a new AoE or a new AoM, unless MS decide to make it than we havent got a hope in hell, for a start RE sound like they want to work on the stuff, so they arent the bad guys (Although alot of my friends say they are >.>) It is obvious that if we want another AOE after AoEO or a new AoM then we need to file it to Microsoft, not Robot, and only a majority of customers can really make Microsoft do it (But of course, we will do it to Robot to double check :P)
Of course a new AoM or AoE would be good, but I doubt it won't actually be worked on until AoEO is finished, only really planned (Maybe the engine built too)
Of course, as I have seen topics about, alot of people, including me are after the scenario editor, which again is up to Microsoft, it gives me the sense of being able to customise the game how I want it, it makes me feel like it is MY game :P
I have been a scenario editor for 8 years on AoM, I still play AoM, and have been a texturer now for 3 days :O
What about a sandbox game. It would be a sort of RTS game, but with a focus on custom scenarios (in a similar way to LittleBigPlanet).
I remember years ago when I played AoM, I made all sorts of maps with the editor. But it was never limited to RTS-like scenarios. We could make all sorts of maps from action/adventure games to boss runs to RPGs and even tower defence!
It would be great if we could have something like that, but with an even easier editor that doesn't take you years to master.
It is very open world and deep, much like fallout or Oblivion. You will get to found, lead, and/or destroy your own communities. You will get to utilize many weapons and spells, such as the blue text wall, or a banhammer. Each weapon is unique and has many, many variants to it. You will get to unlock more as you progress and gain power. Their is also a "public opinion" meter that dictates the major actions you can and can't do, and the effectiveness of your weapons and spells, for example, if you simply banhammered an entire rebelling community, the escapees would cause your public opinion to drop, limiting the effectiveness of certain spells, such as the "I'm the new guy, and I'm here to help you" spell. Of course, you could always take a gamble and banhammer everyone, leaving no escapees, which could not affect public opinion, or drop it far more drastically. Of course public opinion applies to your pet communities too, banhammering a liked community will have a larger effect than banhammering a less liked community.
This is only small sampling of what the demo is going to have to offer, there are many other features in development. Other announced features include the cats, communities, quests, a compelling storyline, and an awesome development team.
-cats-? =O
Don't forget his companion his CAT! :D he would be the main character!
P.S you mean dunkman the developer or you mean the cat? xD
That's all we're saying for now. We'll announce further information at a later date.
More information on Game 3.0
It has been confirmed that Aloysius' Ninja Monkey will be featured in the upcoming game
his special ability is to throw Banana stars (I can think of at least one thing wrong with that! They wouldnt hurt... thats it...)
^That's just a rumor.
What was actually confirmed was that your main objective throughout the story will be to quell the uprising, and put an end to the ninja gerbils for once and for all.
They are lead by the AoMHer called "Majic_Dodo" (Fellow member of mine in Mythic Studios, recent addition to the AoEO beta)
Also there will be side objectives where you have to hi-5 SixOkay in the most awesome way possible (You get points for this... but since genetically SixOkay has an extra finger, for him it will be a hi-6)
The Ninja Gerbils' elite forces are comprised of HWF veterans, immune to the powers of the banhammer and many other weapons.
I think it will be something related with a Heavy Metal Cat and his sidekick the SuperOkay!
what you think guys! :D
Please, contact Microsoft and deal with them about remaking AOE 1 and AOE 2. We are desperate. We need new real-time strategy game. Not MMORPG, RPG, turn-based strategy, simulator, shooter, arcade, etc. Nowadays we haven't any RTS game.
Age of Empires II is still playing by gamers around the world. Sometimes we have troubles with compatibility. It will be very stupid left this game for Microsoft.
It would be pretty cool to see an adventure / platformer type game from the bots.

We love that you appreciate Age 1 and 2. We certainly enjoyed making them, and are still surprised by how many people are still playing them. That said, when we opened Robot Entertainment, our goal was to work on new games that we own. Working on Age of Empires Online was a great chance for us to work on a franchise that we know and love while getting our studio up and on it's feet. We're now currently working on Orcs Must Die! and two other original games. For our studio to be successful, we have to focus out energy as much as we can on bringing exciting new games to people that we own.
I have been eagerly waiting for these kind of games. Thanks for posting
I think there is to much Box AAA games coming out... and most of them are always the same thing... That's why i've been taking a serious view on the Arcade and more simple games on the Marketplace! After all i find myself having more fun with games such as Alien Swarm, Monday Night Friday and etc... i don't know i have more fun with them then actual full priced games!
Well speaking of arcade games, I loved Castle Crashers. I put [way] more time into that that I did most of my retail games.
Really?

I gotta agree with you on that... Spending more time in games like Spiral knight,Monday Night Combat, Castle Crashers and many others :)

Age and Halo Wars sequels aren't up to us. Microsoft decides where those franchises go.
