Debuffing with taoist, just a tease?
So I'm playing against my annoying brother. He's using DE, and he has a void monk with all the gear and mana potion.
No way is it working for my taoist to remove ANY of these buffs. Sure I can understand that the equipments can't be debuffed, even though they should to remove some of the shaolin suckiness, but mana potion?
What kind of buffs can the taoist debuff? And HOW DO YOU DO IT? iOS version here.
dont forget the annhilator debuff aswell!
does it remove rage? hmmm
The Taoist can't really help with a high-HP Void Monk, but you can tag the Void Monk with your Monk and your Poisoner to make him much more vulnerable.
I thought it removed Mana Vial? At least, somebody said so in a post and I put it in the guide.

I can confirm that at the very least it did do this in the first patch
Yes, it does remove mana vial.
GRRRRRR
Gasp! Oh noes (*hugs his vials*) I needz em! still better to know this beforehand
does it remove rage? hmmm
Id assume it does, but you never know
Hmm, that's a good one to check.
I'm guessing it doesn't.
I'm guessing it doesn't.
Just thinking about Rage generally, I would have to agree.
Consider how once you "debuff" naturally by spending it on an enemy - all allied heroes lose Rage. So that shared/inherited behavior would lead me to suspect if a Taoist "debuffed" any one enraged Tribe member - all enraged Tribe members would lose Rage.
So, no - that would have shown way early in beta as OP.
It's normal enough to a Tribe team to be partially enraged.

Yes, that's true - but only for the late comers arriving to the Enraged Party. But even if they had the luck of getting enraged by an allied KO-stomp along with the rest (it doesn't stack), once any Tribe spends the Rage, they all lose it. So from an OOP point of view, the attribute is a shared state for all instances created, and that same state is just washed once any one instance of the class calls the method.
Rage is Tribe Class wax on or wax off - for all when the toggling event is triggered.
I'm guessing it doesn't.

Idk, i would wager that it only debuffs the attacked unit.
Nevertheless, i do believe we need a field test to solve this mystery. Anyone wanna start a match with me? Ill do the tribe
You can also dispel Overcharge and Sandvich. Basically, any dispellable buffs and cleansable debuffs (aside from Priestess Attack-Down and Dw.Engi Shield [which actually absorbs the entire attack and could be done w/o the Taoist]) have icons that appear on the opposite side of the hero as their equipment/Engi-upgrades.
Pretty much the only things that aren't dispellable/cleansable that I've seen that aren't equipment-equivalents are Tribal Rage and DE Soul Harvest health buff. You could put the Dw.Engi Shield in here, too, but that seems to be more a special circumstance in that, as I said above, it seems to basically absorb an entire attack, including its extra effects, as part of its coding, which is why Taoist Dispel/Cleanse works differently vs. DW.Engi Shield than it does vs. DW Beer.
I witnessed in the past week (pre latest patch) an enraged chieften pre meated get smacked by a taoist. The meat was gone and so was the rage, however the rage for the rest of the TR tream remained intact. Actions with the calmed chieften did not remove rage from the remaining TR either.
So I never saw confirmation myself - does taoist debuff remove rage in general?
If so can you remove rage one by one as long as taoist has AP (rage tends not to stick around in general) Does it only remove rage if target has rage and is buffed with meat as I witnessed?
Any of this buggy or all by design? Is the Taoist simply able to bring out the innerpeace even in an enraged greenback?
Don't forget, that it removes jarate

Yup. Taoist removes mana potion, beer (before applying damage), and scroll. And I guess meat, too!
Pretty useful!
