Please help because I'm a lot frustrated by this issue and I know it can works because I saw it (on the same computer...!)

Yes it is a laptop but it is a very good one and : It already worked !!
The demo worked very well & the full game version worked too, I played 2 days with it !
I think (but I'm really not sure I'm not a specialist at all) that it stopped working when I updated the direct X to the version 11 instead of 9c. Is it possible ? How can I make the game work again ? I spent some money on this game.... & I can't play...
(thanks for your help !)
EDIT : I used your website (found on the third post of this forum) to be sure my computer is OK to run the game and it is all good according to your website. Here is the picture of your test : http://cjoint.com/?ALwnx2i86nD
I would bet that DX update is the core of your problem.Below is a reference for people that are getting errors with direct x possibly being involved. I don't promise that it will help, but you can try it.
You can also try installing the old version of DX9c and see if it fixes the problem. I believe you can just download it and install and it should overwrite dx11, but don't quote me on that.
The only other references that I see that may help is the following. If you are up to spec. Then you may want to look at your DX or Msvc installations.
- If you're absolutely certain that you meet the minimum specifications and you're getting this error, then we recommend that you reinstall your video drivers.
-
Done all of that? Still getting the error? There's a chance that something is wrong with your Dx9 or MSVC installations. Follow the instructions below to manually install these again (don't use the web installers):
- These files will be installed as part of the game install. If you need to reinstall only Dx9 then you can go the directory that steam installed the game to and install it directly from the installer directory.
- The directoy will look something like this - ##WhereEverSteamIsInstalled##\Steamapps\common\orcs must die!\Installer - For most installs this will be C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\orcs must die!\installer.
- Find dxsetup.exe and run it by double-clicking on the file. If this files are missing you should reinstall the game. When asked, accept the agreement and let the installer complete. This should install the version of DirectX that is needed by the game.
- To install the MSVC runtime look for the vcredist_x86.exe installer and run it by double-clicking on the file. If this files are missing you should reinstall the game.
Hope it helps. A dev might give some more advice later.
Thanks, kenny
Mr Kenny,
I just tryed what you tell in your last post (only the directx re-installation process) and tryed the game after and... It is working perfectly !!! As before.
The directx was the problem as I though. I looked myself on the web how to re-install an old directx version before coming post my problem here and it's written everywhere it's impossible or very complicated. I do not really understand why it worked with your solution but I do not really care because it did.
I want to tell you how thanksfull I am. Your answers where very good, very efficient and... Very fast !
So thank you for your great help, I'm going now to enjoy this very funny game and I'm thinking the best about your compagnie and especially about you & the job your doing.
Thanks a lot again & have a good chrismas !

I'm also getting this texture proplem i think because my video drivers arn't good enough but i'm not sure.
My video is Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Also i noticed this proplem also happeneds to people who own toshiba satellite) my computer is a Toshiba Satellite L300
I've just got this game too and have the same problem. I have a Toshiba Sattelitte A330 that is clearly the minimum specs.
I have completed all of the steps above and have updated my nVidia drivers to the current level that supports Orcs must die 2 however the situation still hasn't changed and it is impossible to see to play the game when the level is loaded.
Are there any other things that you could suggest to help me ger this working?

I'm not sure that your intel graphics chip meets minimum specs. Looks like an intergrated graphics chip on a laptop. Is this correct?
