Am I missing something?

Same exact problem still. Just came back to the game after a long hiatus, and I still can't complete it. Would love a dev post or some solution.
Is the achievement only attainable via Solo, or Coop as well?
Is it 1000 kills cumulatively or only on 1 map/ 1 game?
Do Endless or Nightmare modes count?
I have tried a variation of all of the above, and still, have not been able to get it. Any help or advice?
I got this achievement from just playing normally, definately did not kill anything close to 1000 in one game, However my co-op partner has been playing omd2 as long as I have and he still doesn't have this achievement even thought I got it months ago. We don't play much solo so there seems to be something glitchy about it.
I have about 300 played hours into OMD2 and I've only just gotten this achievement this week. I believe there are a few things you must know if you are actively hunting this achievement.
- You can get it in co-op ONLY if you host.
- The carts must get the kill shot.
- Persist effects during a cart kill invalidate the kill as a mine cart kill.
I have no way to prove this is the case but due to alot of experience this is the only scenario where I would not have recieved this achievement earlier.
I have it, though I don't know circumstances I got it, it says I got it on September 15th. Maybe the game felt sorry for me as I'm so utterly rubbish at it, or it could be that I'm just speshul.
