GamesCom - Day One

Guten Tag!
As my fellow bots at the Factory back in Texas are just getting their day going, I'm taking a break at the hotel after a long but awesome first day of GamesCom 2010. Today was press day, so it was mostly behind-closed-doors press demos courtesy of our very own Jerome, and press-only hands-on time at the Microsoft booth. This gave me a little time to walk the convention floor... and boy what a floor it is. It's only the end of our first day, and I already have blisters on my feet. This is a huge show. Thankfully, Age of Empires Online has a huge setup.

If you're one of the hundreds of thousands of gamers who will be crowding the halls of Gamescom tomorrow, you'll be able to find us right inside the North Entrance. In fact, if you come in on that side, it's almost impossible to miss us. We've got 12 stations setup where you can come by, ask about the new (and returning) features, and give them a try for yourself. What is surely the entirety of the European gaming press have already done so, and I'm pleased to report that the game has been getting a great reception from players. Germany has given us a high compliment of seasoned Age players to put Jerome and our booth demo team through their paces. It's been a really exciting experience to watch people get their first look (and their first play!) of the game. Also remember that if you find me during the show, I've got several of the black Robot Entertainment shirts in my backpack, and one of them could be yours!
If you aren't able to be at Gamescom this year, don't worry. Robot Entertainment has your fix for all things Age of Empires Online. I'll be posting blogs right here every evening from the show, as well as photos and other goodies all day long on our twitter page. You can also watch for Dunkman to be posting links to any coverage that appears online to both our twitter and Facebook pages. As if that wasn't enough, I'm also going to be uploading several photos from throughout the week to our Facebook gallery.
If that's still hasn't satisfied your appetite for Age of Empires Online and you're itching to play the game for yourself, remember that you can sign up for a chance to be a beta tester on the game by visiting http://www.ageofempiresonline.com/beta/. If you have any questions about Age of Empires Online, be sure to drop by our forums. Our bots will jump in and answer everything that we can for you. That just about wraps up day one. Now I'm off to refuel for tomorrow, when the floodgates really burst open!
