Clash of the Robots is complete!
Congrats to all of my co-workers for a great job on our 1st Art-Bot Central theme 'Clash of the Titans'. There was really some amazing stuff that everyone put together, and such a wide variety of techniques and software being used. Brad’s post was the conclusion to the theme, and I wanted to thank everyone for stopping by and checking it out. I also wanted to take this time to respond to the most consistent question that was left in the comments section.
Unfortunately, we can’t talk about or hint at what our next game is, and I’m really sorry about that. We look forward to when the announcement does happen so we can talk more about our day to day work, and not just what we’re doing in our free time.
While wrapping up the 'Clash of the Titans' theme, we also put together a list of suggestions for our new theme. The decision amongst the artists must have been inspired by THE blockbuster movie of the summer, which is soon to be nominated for 100’s of Oscars, I’m sure of it… G.I. Joe. : ) Our date to start posting stuff for that theme is in about a month, so we’ll be back on Friday the 25th of September (if not before with some other artist introduction posts). So now you guys know what to look forward to and ‘knowing is half the battle’. (I couldn’t help it).

i know..well, they know that AOE is a classic series and letting it go would dissapoint alot of fans. i would take AOE4, a new age of mythology or even a remake of AOE. if it says Age in front of it, im buying.
it was an amazing vision.. We hope you 'll tell more about your next project soon.

Everyone one know AOC was the best age game every created. They need to take what was right in that game and rebuild it. That will sell millions and the community for age of empires will be massive once again. Believe be when I tell you this.
If you don't make an AOE4, everyone will be missing out and so will you! You will make millions
On behalf of all people playing AoM at the moment: Make us proud :D
I believe that the new game is going to be an Age of Mythology 2, because this would be a good time to pick that series back up. A lot of people don't want an Age of Empires 4 if it has tanks and airplanes, so that's another reason to make an AOM 2. (I would personally love a WW 2 AOE) And I mean come on, look at all that art work they just put together.
Dear Robot Entertainment:
Please make a spiritual successor to Age of Empires 1, at some point, possibly before 2012 when the world ends.

Sean- I know, I really wish that we could get more into what is going on at Robot during the day rather than the updates of what is happening after hours. But one of these days, weââ¬â¢ll have a lot more to talk about. I promise.
Juan R.- Iââ¬â¢m a big fan of the Age series as well Juan, I know exactly what you mean.
James1984- It depends on what you mean by soon. : ) As soon as we can talk about the game, we will. Weââ¬â¢re all excited about the things going on here, and canââ¬â¢t wait to share it with you guys.
Graver- G.I. Joe will start the end of next week, Iââ¬â¢ve seen some of the stuff, and it looks really cool. Not to mention some more Robot Artists will be posting some work (Paul Slusser, and Rob Walden). As for a timeline for talking about our projects, I donââ¬â¢t have a date that I can talk about, but I would guess that I can say it will be a matter of months and not years. Or maybe I canââ¬â¢t say it, and Iââ¬â¢ll get in a bunch of trouble : )

Usman- I understand your frustration and all I can say is that Iââ¬â¢m sorry, and that we definitely understand. We appreciate you guys visiting the Robot Ent. site, and it is clear you are all great fans of our previous accomplishments at Ensemble Studios and obviously want to know what Robot will be doing. Sometime, in the future, there will be a lot more to talk about on these blogs.

1988, GrumPy, Nameless, Zoekt, Outlawed Renegade, Grand Poobah, Bannergrunt- Those are all great variety of ideas to further the Age Series in a bunch of directions.
Prashady- I wish I could tell you more.
Gregg- I have no idea what happened to SWGB 2. That was a division of Lucas Arts that worked on the first one if I recall, they just used the Age 2 engine
James1984- You are very persistent, and I wish I could let you know moreââ¬Â¦ but I canââ¬â¢t.
The good olââ¬â¢ AoE daysââ¬Â¦ =ââ¬â¢)- AoE 1 was already done 12 years ago. : ) But I do know what youââ¬â¢re saying, I was trying to be funny, because I donââ¬â¢t know what else to say.
Legionaries- We just updated the photo section, happy hunting (though, I donââ¬â¢t know if youââ¬â¢ll find anything at the soccer field or movie theatre : )

I just wanted to say once again, that we all do appreciate you guys coming out to the Robot Entertainment site, and supporting us. I know that these blog post are not the exact information that you want to read about on right now, because information about our project/s is what is in the forefront of your minds, but we will let you guys know as soon as we can.

I've just discovered this blog like a few weeks ago, and I wanna ask: We will do a drawing-competition or something when there is a 15-year anniversary of AoE, or a 10-year anniversary AoM competition? I know it may be far, but it will be pretty cool... and some new games as prices...

I just wanted to say how much I am looking forward to your new game releases/news. I'm sure your doing fantastic work as fast as you can, whilst keeping the quality awesome. For my personal opinion, a, American Civil War - World War 2/ Cold War RTS game would be simply brilliant and awesome, but whatever you make I'm sure I'll buy! XD

Age Of Empires 1:2, (Age of Dawn of Man?)
Complete with improved graphics, the joy of shift click, and the sound economic structure of myth or AOE3. The music was already incredible.
Or Age of Mythology 2, I still play online and was very late getting into the game and missed its prime, sad :*(
For either of these games, I will save many kittens.
Think of the kittens. You can't say no.
PS: it is nice to see that it appears most everybody on the forum is banging on the door for the same thing haha

I just want to say that I'm originally from a third world country and I was living there when the AOE came out. Since, I could not afford to buy those, I only played the demon versions I think.
However, when I emigrated to Canada, money was not that bad for me, so I bought age of empire gold edition but my crush was Age of Mythology. I still remember how happy I was when I bought it. No other game had the same feeling until I bought Halo came along but still not the same feeling.
When I realized that AOM was abandoned, no more expansion, no new versions, etc. It was a very sad time for me. Sometimes, I think you guys dont know how fans feel when our games get abandoned and silly games get new versions. I will not mention names but some of those are great but still overrated.
My best dream would be AOM2 but that's wishfull thinking. You guys are more likely planning to do a game that has no relationship to microsoft at all.
You guys should give us a hint already.
BTW, I'm gonna give you a silly idea for a future project.
You should make a game about insect wars like: ants, bees, wasps and termites. Something original.
I WANT AN AOM2! I can name a dozen people, no more than that that want an AOM2! I still play AOM and release maps (check AOM heaven, I have a map) and still see friends from 6 or so years ago on (i stopped playing a while but came back and my jaw dropped to see so many people playing)
Me and my friend (AOM user Junk202) have been waiting for an AOM2 paitiently for quite a few years and now can't wait any longer! (Junk202 no longer plays AOM... he now plays Halo wars and AOE3)
And I for one would very oddly like to see saxons in AOM (lol?)
Please I beg of you as I have been for the last 6 or so years, MAKE AN AOM2! I like AOE but it really does not click with me whereas AOM does, and can you add a few triggers so we can make even BETTER maps?
