A few months back, the artists here at Robot Entertainment submitted an image for the 2011 Into The Pixel art competition. The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences and the Entertainment Software Association hosts the competition every year for Video Game artists and they select several winners from hundreds of submissions.
Here is our winning image:
Chris Moffitt, Brad Crow, Nathan Stefan, and Bart Tiongson all had a hand in making this piece.
Visit the Into The Pixel website to check out the rest of the winners and previous years winners. They have lots of great art there.

Part 9!
Man, this has shaped up to be an incredible theme. I know it’s likely pretty easy for just about any artist to get excited about superheroes…. but, I’m really proud of all of the artists putting forth so much effort into this one, there is some really amazing stuff to look at.
I can remember from middle school on, drawing nothing but superheroes. My original goal was to get into comics, but when I finished school, I found the games industry calling. It was new and exciting, and really beginning to explode, so I imagined it would be just as creative of an outlet, and it was.

Hey ArtBloggers, been awhile since my last post and it's good to be back.
As an environment artist here at Robot, I work on assets that require stone, so why not select a superhero made out of stone! I've always liked The Thing from the Fantastic Four and used to follow his comic series, but never got into the Fantastic Four. Thank you so much for your support and consistent interest on our art theme blog. Anyway, I was so excited about the Super Hero project when it was announced but at the same time it was so hard for me to decide one, because there are so many Super Hero characters I like. So I decided to do my own Super Hero character.
Huh? What?...-_-
Hopefully you guys like what I had done. I submitted this guy for Dominance War competition few years back. He is half robot half human and carries machine gun/blade. He used to have a robot dog but he is out for now since I didn’t have time to re-design it. Anyway, thanks s ... READ MORE
Hey everyone!
For the superhero theme, I thought it would be fun to revisit an old project of mine from a couple years back. I always wanted to do a sculpt of a scene from the Ultimate Wolverine Vs. Hulk series where Wolverine gets ripped in half by the Hulk. Leinil Francis Yu was the pencil artist for the comic and he created this amazing 2 page scene that always stood out in my mind as just being epic. You can see the image HERE.
I always loved how the Hulk was portrayed because he had been living in a Tibetan village and had all these giant, beads around his neck with cloth and plates around his waste. It was just a rea ... READ MORE
